A well known name in rugby league, Murray Hurst has coached at various levels of the game, including regional, major and statewide competitions, NRL, Queensland and international representative teams.
In that time, Hurst has helped guide his sides to a total of 13 premierships.
While his background in rugby league as a coach is well documented, he also has more than seven years of experience as the Queensland manager of wellbeing and education for the NRL.
He also has extensive experience outside of rugby league, with six years working in education in both planning and development, as well as overseeing new projects.
There was time spent in the construction industry, as well as a stint in local government as a councillor in the Thuringowa City Council.
Hurst also has 18 years of experience in the airline industry, working across the state as a terminal supervisor and performing various managerial and supervisory roles in Mackay, Brisbane, Townsville and Rockhampton.
Hurst uses the experience and knowledge garnered from the rugby league, government and business worlds in his current role leading the NRL’s Queensland-based wellbeing and education when developing and delivering programs to benefit players.
