The South East Queensland Division’s Under 16s Challenge series continued last weekend, with the historic Brisbane Valleys club hosting this round of fixtures.

Brisbane Blue surprised their Red counterparts in their Round 3 clash, but Brisbane Grey proved to be far too strong for the Blue outfit.

After a commanding 30-0 lead at halftime, Grey added three further tries in the second stanza to win by 46-6. Hooker Harrison Graham and Jackson Lombe scored doubles for Grey.

Although winless to date in the competition, the Ipswich Diggers have been unlucky losing two close matches.

However, the Diggers left nothing to chance dominating Gold Coast Green outfit and recording a very comfortable 42-6 victory.

Ipswich hooker was again dangerous in attach, crossing for two of his team’s eight tries.

The Brisbane Red – Gold Coast White match proved to be an entertaining tussle with both teams sharing patches of slick attack as well as solid defence.

However, it was the classy Red outfit that made the most of their opportunities and they went onto defeat Gold Coast by 30-18. Red centre Ezra Coulston scored 14 points in the win with two tries and three goals.
