Community Awards

The Queensland Rugby League Community Awards are a great way to recognise and acknowledge the tremendous contribution participants, volunteers and clubs make to keep the greatest game of all prospering in Queensland.

In 2021, there are five community awards:

XXXX Community Club of the Year

The XXXX Community Club of the Year recognises and rewards a community rugby league club that has enhanced participation and enjoyment of rugby league and goes above and beyond to make a positive impact in their community.

The winning club will receive a $2000 XXXX prize pack.

The 2021 XXXX Community Club of the Year is Barcaldine Sandgoannas.

'What they're most proud of is what they've done for their community'

Shell V-Power Volunteer of the Year

The Shell V-Power Volunteer of the Year recognises and rewards a rugby league volunteer who has shown exceptional service to the game, made a measurable difference in their community and actively displays the QRL values - we are positive, we are united, we are inclusive, we are disciplined.

The winning volunteer will receive a $1000 Shell V-Power fuel voucher.

The 2021 Shell V-Power Volunteer of the Year is Neil Redfern.

'Neil is the fabric that blankets rugby league in the Northern Districts'

Harvey Norman Female Contribution Award

The Harvey Norman Female Contribution Award recognises and rewards exceptional service to the female game who has made a measurable difference to women's rugby league in Queensland.

The winner will receive a $500 Harvey Norman voucher.

The 2021 Harvey Norman Female Contribution Award recipient is Gillian Bann.

'She's a great inspiration to all females in the game'

Auswide Bank Community Program of the Year

The Auswide Bank Community Program of the Year recognises and rewards excellent and innovative community programs - coordinated by clubs and / or leagues - which significantly improve outcomes for their community and fosters a culture of learning, supporting and sharing of excellent practice.

The winning club / league will receive $2000, thanks to Auswide Bank.

The 2021 Auswide Bank Community Program of the Year is Murgon Mustangs' domestic violence awareness and prevention round.

'The program has really encouraged people to speak up'

BHP Community Coach of the Year

The BHP Community Coach of the Year recognises and rewards a community rugby league coach who goes above and beyond to display the QRL values - we are positive, we are united, we are inclusive, we are disciplined - to better rugby league in Queensland.

The winning coach will receive $500, thanks to BHP.

The 2021 BHP Community Coach of the Year is Nathan Woods.
