Biography

Danny Moore played his junior footy with Townsville Centrals, before making his senior debut with Townsville Souths.

He played for the Queensland Under 19 and Under 21 sides in 1990, and was signed by Manly-Warringah coach Graham Lowe the following year.

Moore made his first grade debut for the Sea Eagles in Round 7 against Parramatta.

Lowe used Moore primarily as a forward, but when Bob Fulton took over as coach, he moved the tall, athletic 21-year-old to the centres, where he played three of his four State of Origin games.

I was picked in Fatty's Neville Nobodies. Fatty worked on telling us that Origin was won by defending the line, we won the first match 2-0.

Danny Moore FOG #84

Moore played all three games in 1995 when Queensland made a clean sweep of the series, scoring a try in Game III at Suncorp Stadium.

He played on the wing in Game I of the 1997 series. Moore played centre in all three home Tests against the Kiwis in 1995, and then toured England with Australia's World Cup squad, playing in a Test against South Africa.

In 1996, Moore played 25 games for the Sea Eagles, scoring a career best 13 tries, and playing wing in Manly's 20-8 win over St George in the ARL grand final, scoring a try.

After 119 games for Manly, Moore moved to England to play with Wigan, where he won a premiership in 1998. He finished his English stint with London Broncos in 2000.

Moore returned to the NRL in 2001 with the North Queensland Cowboys, playing two games, before retiring. He has coached at the Ipswich Jets, Redbank Plains and Wests Mitchelton.
