Biography

Prop forward Francis Molo played his junior football with Norths Aspley Devils and attended Wavell State High School from where he made the Queensland Schoolboys side in 2011.

Molo also played for Queensland Under 16s, Queensland Under 18s and Queensland Under 20s on his rise to the NRL. After playing for the Brisbane Broncos in the National Youth Cup, Molo made his NRL debut in Round 11, 2014.

Born in Auckland, of Cook Islands descent, his family moved to Australia when he was one. In 2015, he represented the Cook Islands in a World Cup qualifier against Tonga.

Mid-way through the 2017 season, Molo was released from his Broncos' contract and moved to Townsville, where he played for the Townsville Blackhawks in the Intrust Super Cup.

He played for the North Queensland Cowboys from 2018 to 2021, enjoying a 'breakout' 2019 season, in which he played 24 games and won the club's 'Coach's Award'.

I’m really pleased to give Frank the opportunity, now it’s up to Frank to take it and give it his best.

Molo's consistency was rewarded with his selection for Queensland in 2021. He made his debut as an inter-change player in Game II of the series at Suncorp Stadium, and retained his spot for Game III on the Gold Coast. Molo joined St George Illawarra in 2022. He had played 76 NRL games prior to linking with the Dragons.

'The feeling was unreal but I'm disappointed about the result' - Molo
