THE Caboolture Snakes have ended the undefeated run of the Kawana Dolphins as round nine of the Caloundra RSL A Grade Cup wrapped up at the weekend.


Jake Carl, Troy Coggins, Willem Pretorius crossed the stripe for the Snakes as Caboolture handed Kawana a 19-12 loss, their first of season.


The result also allowed Bribie Island and Gympie to both close the gap on the Dolphins at the top of the leaderboard.


The Bribie Island Sea Eagles delivered a 52-10 rout of the struggling Caloundra Sharks, with Kyle Van Klaveren scoring four tries.


The Gympie Devils also kept pace with the Sea Eagles, defeating the Nambour Crushers 36-28.


Ash Humble and Kris Kahler inflicted the damage for the Devils with five tries between the pair to keep Gympie tied for second place.


In the remaining game the Maroochydore-Coolum Swans were 27-20 winners over the Noosa Pirates to claim their fourth win of the season.


In round 10 this weekend, Nambour will take on Noosa, while Caboolture will look to make it back-to-back wins when they take Maroochydore-Coolum on Saturday night.


On Sunday Caloundra host the Gympie Devils and the Bribie Island Sea Eagles host the Kawana Dolphins at Bernie Foley Oval in the heavyweight clash of the round.
