The Caboolture Snakes stamped themselves as the form team of the competition as the first round of the Caloundra RSL A Grade Cup played out at the weekend.
Th Snakes continued their late season charge, defeating local rivals Bribie Island 24-16 in the qualifying semi-final.
The four tries to three victory sends the Snakes through to the second qualifying final against the reigning premiers, the Kawana Dolphins, on Sunday afternoon.
In the elimination final, the Gympie Devils brought an end to the Maroochydore Swans season with a tight 22-20 victory at home.
The win gives the Devils a shot at Bribie Island in the second elimination final this weekend, to be played at Bernie Foley Oval on Saturday from 6.30pm.
