Purpose of Position (Position Summary)
The Gold CoastJRL supports the establishment and enhancement of Rugby League through the employment of a Coaching Director. The CD will establish education within Gold Coast Junior Rugby League local clubs.
A position is now available in the recently developed role. This Coaching Director position is based in the Gold Coast Area, report directly to Operations manager, Gold Coast JRL and is directed by the Chairman of Gold Coast JRL. The officer will:
Ensure Coach/player Development at club and local level, including: Coach updates and Education days and mentoring programs,
Develop and maintain networks to promote, develop and service the game,
Increase and develop awareness and acceptance of the game within the community, clubs and schools,
Design and Assist with Academy Program
Work closely with members of the SEQ Development team.
Work with targeted groups to increase participation including: Indigenous, Womens, Pacific Communities.
Key Responsibilities
A.Education and Training Programs
The Coaching Director will support the delivery in conjunction with NRL GDO, conduct or provide for assessment of coaches seeking accreditation and conduct coaching updates.
B.Promotion, Recruitment and Participation,
The Coaching Director will initiate and plan a regular series of Club Coaches Performance Reviews or Club Coach Coordinator.
The Coaching Director will be expected to display an innovative and energetic approach to promoting Rugby League programs in the local league area and will represent the Rugby League at events, forums and stakeholder meetings.
Through the education of coaches and Club Coaching Coordinators the Coaching Director will enhance the skill standard of players and coaches.
The Coaching Director will support an increase in participation by;
Conducting Club skill clinics,
Mentoring Club coaching coordinators,
Creating strong linkages between the school programs, Junior Clubs and Leagues.
C.General Activities
The Coaching director will be expected to ensure that the Local league is regularly updated on issues affecting the development of Rugby League locally, State-wide and nationally.
It is also expected the Coaching Director will assist with the planning and operation of Gold coast Academy camps and the duration of MeWe program through Gold Coast Academy of Sport.

A sound knowledge of rugby league and demonstrated technical knowledge in relevant areas.
