The junior presentation was held first with approximately 40 people attending a very warm afternoon at the Longreach Aquatic Centre.

The day kicked off with many of the juniors taking advantage of the cool waters with a dip in the pool followed by some activities with Australian Jillaroos players Renae Kunst and Jenni-Sue Hoepper, lunch and the main attraction presentation of trophies.

Junior winners:

* Junior Representative Player of the Year Peter Blucher

After a couple hours break for the Central West Committee; it was off to the senior awards night at the Longreach RSL.

Presentation of shirts was made to the Central Division Challenge Squad along with presentation of team jerseys (and photo) to the Outback Muster teams. We sincerely thank those players for putting up their hand to play representative footy for Central West.

We forgot to mention on the night that the Outback Muster is coming back to the Central West district for 2014 and has been awarded to the town of Blackall. Our committee will be working with both Blackall clubs and community to organise this fantastic senior carnival.

Central West Rugby League sponsors were recognised on the night along with event sponsors for the presentation, without the support of sponsors our club would not survive and we thank those sponsors who have signed on for the 2014 season.

We want to thank everyone who came along for the senior awards night and like myself, I trust everyone enjoyed themselves. I personally want to thank my committee Vice President David Kerrigan, Junior Delegate Travis Harbour and Secretary/Treasurer Charmain Acton.

Thanks also to the women who decorated the venue for the awards (Iona Nicol, Riley Blunt and Charmain Acton great job!) and to all the clubs for their support for season 2013; our media partners, both junior and senior players and to everyone who made the evening possible (RSL Longreach, Qantaslink, Radio 4LG/West FM & Albert Park Motor Inn).

Finally to Paul and Marie from Struddys (who set out what is possible when looking for league uniforms for season 2014) along with our very special guests from the Jillaroos Rugby League World Cup Squad Renae Kunst & Jenni-Sue Hoepper. These two women were wonderful and are a credit to rugby league.

There was one special mention we forgot on the night and that was to the Secretary/Treasurer of Central West Rugby League Charmain Acton.

A few months ago Charmain was nominated by her peers for the NRL One Community Women in League Achievement Award and managed to be one of six finalists from across Australia. She travelled to Sydney in late September for the awards night representing not only Central West, but was one of three finalists to represent the Central Division (which CWRL is a part of). Though Charmain did not win, CWRL is extremely proud of her efforts and very grateful she is part of our committee.

The season has now closed for 2013, but we only have a couple of weeks break and will be into season 2014 with the AGM / GM & Club Induction to be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Longreach RSL commencing at 10am.

QRL reps will be on hand for the club induction and the president, secretary, treasurer and coaches are requested to attend this (from about 11.30am). All clubs should have held their own AGM by this date and all relevant paperwork must be into CWRL by November 6, 2013.

As President of Central West Rugby League I would like to wish all the clubs the best for season 2014.
