FEMALE rugby league coaches in southeast Queensland are being invited to apply for a position in the Female Coach Development Squad which is being launched by NRL Development in 2014.


In recent years the Woman and Girls game in Queensland has grown significantly, and there is now a clear pathway for Women and Girls to play at Club, District, Regional, State and International Level.


With the success of the Australian Jillaroos winning the Womans Rugby League World Cup this year and the increase in media attention, the Womans game will continue to grow.


The purpose of the Coach Development Squad is to identify and train potential female representative coaches by providing members with education and mentoring.


This will include coaching seminars from full time NRL Game Development Staff as well as professional coaches from the NRL and Intrust Super Cup.


Minimum requirements to gain a spot on the Female Coach Development Squad include:


Must hold or be willing to obtain an International Games Coach Accreditation

Be coaching or have previously coached at Under 13 level or above.

Be able to attend at least 4 of 6 mentoring and education sessions (evenings and weekends)

Hold a current Blue Card


Successful applicants will receive coaching and mentoring from some of the best rugby league minds in southeast Queensland, an SEQ Female Coach Development Shirt and opportunities to be involved with female representative teams including junior and senior international at a district and regional level; which may lead to further representative positions depending on performance.
