Minor premiership-winning Northern Pride coach Jason Demetriou has today been announced as the XXXX Queensland Residents coach for next years annual representative match against NSW.

Demetriou takes the reins from former Wynnum Manly mentor Paul Green, who will coach the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League.

Green guided the Queensland Residents to a 20-14 win over the NSW Cup team in 2012 but was unable to go back-to-back this year after the Blues prevailed 22-18 in Sydney.

A former English Super League player with Wakefield, Demetriou made an immediate impact in his first year in the Intrust Super Cup coaching ranks when he was named Coach of the Year at the QRL Gala Awards night in September.

The Pride won 17 of their 22 regular season matches to claim top spot, but a grand final berth eluded them after consecutive losses in the semi-finals.

Demetriou will be assisted by former Maroons Origin player Adrian Vowles.

Meanwhile, Melbourne Storm NYC coach Anthony Seibold returns as Queensland Under 18s mentor, while Kurt Richards replaces Mark Tookey as the Queensland Under 16s coach.

Craig Grauf and Steve Sheppard will again be in charge of the Under 16 and Under 18 Maroons teams respectively following their success against NSW Country in Lismore this year.

Paul Lowe also tasted victory as the Rangers coach on that night in Lismore and the former Jets mentor will again take control of the open Queensland side for the one-off match against the Ron Massey Cup representative side.

Brad Donald returns as the coach of the Queensland Womens team which recorded a 15th successive win over NSW earlier this year.
