Order your Women in League club socks:

THE NRL celebrates, acknowledges and supports the role women play in the game and value the significant contribution, particularly at grassroots level.

The month of May will see many events taking place to showcase the Game's commitment to all the women in the Rugby League family.

Round 10 is the Harvey Norman Women in League round and your club is invited to showcase their support and raise money for either the club or chosen charity by being involved in the official NRL "Pop on Purple" campaign.

The NRL will be inviting clubs to purchase purple Women in League socks at cost price $7 a pair plus postage (minimum order 100 pairs) and on selling them to your juniors for $11 a pair with all funds raised going back to your club or a nominated charity of your choice.

The official Women in League socks can be ordered from April 28 with dispatch taking place on May 12 in time for the official Harvey Norman Women in League round (May 16th- 19th).

Northern Division:

Cairns Women’s Rugby League competition

NORTHERN Queensland women are being invited to play in a four-week competition in Cairns in preparation for the NQ women’s trials.

The trails for Mackay Townsville, Cairns, Cape York and Torres Strait will be held at Jones Park, Cairns, on May 31 and June 1 to select a NQ team for the Queensland Women’s State Championships in June.

The four-week competition will kick off on Friday, May 2 and run until May 23 and will be held at Vico Oval (home of the Kangaroos).

The original registration date has passed, but women who are interested in playing are still welcome to come along on this Friday night to take part from 5pm with a game commencing at 6pm.

South East Division:

Brisbane and District Women’s Emerging Camp:

THE South East Queensland Emerging Women’s camp is scheduled for Runaway Bay on May 24 and 25.

To enable the selection of the players for this camp, it has been proposed by the Division that all matches be played at one venue on the weekend of May 3 and 4 (this weekend).

All Girls Challenge and Clinic reminder:

THIS weekend in the South East will see a hive of activity for women and girls rugby league.

One of the biggest events will be the All Girls Clubs Challenge taking place at Albert Bishop Park.

There will also be an All Girls All Ages Skills Clinic being held in conjunction to the main event where girls of all ages are invited to a FREE NRL Rugby League Development Clinic.       

This will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am and these girls are welcome to watch the NRL Under 14 All Girls Club Challenge which will show case girls 9-A-Side Rugby League in South East Queensland, taking place in the adjoining fields.
