Brethren maul Tigers

Brothers have maintained their top four position in the TDRL competition with a 28-4 defeat of Centrals at Kern Brothers Drive. 

It was a disappointing game from both sides who lacked their normal flair and charisma with the match being won through tough defence. 

The night game saw slippery conditions for both teams, as from the opening whistle silly errors were in abundance.  

Completion rates from both teams were poor and it was the experience of the Brothers' playmakers which saw them over the line.  

Brothers seemed in control early with the Tigers play lacking cohesion and direction.  The loss of Tigers halfback Matthew Green before kickoff to a torn calf muscle threw the Tigers attack into disarray and they were unable to compensate for the play makers lost.  

With both teams completing poorly it was Brothers who stuck together in defence and withstood the Tigers onslaught. 

However, Centrals were unable to do the same with their poor ball control costing them on the score board. 

Nathan Norford was once again one of Brothers best with his speed from dummy half bagging a try and kicking three goals. 

The win has given Brothers a great platform to securing a top two finish while the Tigers brilliant start to the season seems to have stalled with a number of recent losses.
