Queensland Rugby League will hold its monthly Board meeting tomorrow at the Mareeba Leagues Club.

Tomorrow’s activities form part of a broader engagement strategy in the Far North, providing an opportunity for stakeholders to communicate directly with our QRL Directors.

QRL Managing Director Robert Moore said a “forum” for local leagues and government representatives would be held following the meeting.

Mareeba’s Davies Park – the home of local team the Gladiators – will next month host an Intrust Super Cup game between the Northern Pride and Souths Logan Magpies, as part of Get in the Game Country Week.

“We are very excited about bringing a Get in the Game Country Week match to Mareeba on August 9,” Moore said today.

“Each year we travel to a different regional destination and we felt it was an opportune time to take our monthly meeting to Far North Queensland to engage with the local community”.

“It’s important that we hear from our grass-roots as they do a wonderful job driving rugby league and we want to hear their voice.

“We’ve benefited greatly from previous meetings held at Toowoomba, Mount Isa and Roma over the past three years.”

The nine member QRL Board is chaired by Peter Betros.

The forum at the Mareeba Leagues Club is scheduled to be held between 5pm and 7pm.
