The Burdekin Roosters have advanced past week 1 of elimination finals football with an emphatic 46-6 victory over the Centrals Tigers in the minor semi final last weekend at the Townsville Sports Reserve.
Burdekin dominated the match in the first half, however the game was still in the balance with 20 minutes to go with Burdekin holding an 18-6 lead.
However, weary legs surfaced for the Tigers who were unable to stop the Roosters juggernaut after giving up easy field position through erratic ball control.
The more the Tigers tried to get back into the match the deeper the hole they dug for themselves with Burdekin opening the floodgates late in the match with the scoreline not reflecting the match.
For Burdekin, Rainer, Karmon and Temone Power combined for five of the Roosters tries which ensured the Roosters progressed through to this weekend's preliminary final against the Herbert River Crushers after they were dispatched by Brothers 28-16 in the major semi final.
