The Burdekin Roosters have continued their fairytale form in the TDRL competition with an emphatic and upset victory over 2013 champions the Herbert River Crushers in last weekends preliminary final.

The Roosters will be vying for their first premiership in 11 years with a 32-18 victory setting up an exciting clash with Brothers.

It was a high tempo match with both sides coming from behind at different times however it was Burdekin who finished the stronger posting three unanswered tries in the final 20 minutes to secure a memorable victory.

It was a disappointing finish for the Crushers who maintained premiership favouritism going into the match after clinching the minor premiership only weeks earlier however lost their way in the finals.

Temone and Rainer Power both scored doubles and were outstanding as the Roosters made the Crushers fringe defence look non existent. Burdekin have hit form at the right time and will be hard to beat in the decider.
