RUGBY league fans in Brisbane are invited to join in the fun and celebrations this weekend when the Queensland Pacific Island Cultural Carnival takes over Bill Norris Oval in Beenleigh.

The QPICC event will open on Friday, October 24 and close on Sunday, October 26 with the finals matches.

This alcohol-free event will see Queensland-based teams representing Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands in four different age divisions – Under 14, Under 16, Under 18 and Open Men’s.

As well as featuring rugby league action on the field – there will also be a focus on culture – with plenty of Pacific Island food on offer, as well dancing displays.

Entry to the ground will be via gold coin donation.

Last year’s event was a great success with many people braving the heat to soak up the atmosphere.
