All roads lead to Hervey Bay on Saturday where the Bundaberg Rugby League will “kick-off” their 2015 season at Stafford Park.

All Club teams will be on show for the first time this weekend with an A Grade double header and a Reserve Grade triple header played at the Bay and on Sunday Waves Tigers will play Easts in both grades at the ATW Sporting Complex in Bundaberg.

Isis Devils will have a bye in the A Grade this weekend. The U18s and Women’s competition commence after Easter.

Much interest has been shown with clubs strengthening their playing rosters in the hope of gaining premiership honours for this season as dual premiership holders Western Suburbs still will be very formidable in their attempt to make the trifecta.

Games this Saturday at Stafford Park feature Wallaroos v Wests, MBH Brothers v Isis Devils, Hervey Bay v Past Brothers in Reserve Grade and Wallaroos v Wests, Hervey Bay v Past Brothers in A Grade. All these games should be played with great interest and passion as in previous years previewing what should be a very competitive season.

During these next few weeks prior to Easter, players will no doubt be out to press for selection in the 47th Battalion squad that is to be announced after the long weekend to prepare for the Central Division Carnival at Roma in May.

The Wide Bay Region Junior 47th Battalion Carnival will be held on the Anzac Day weekend at Salter Oval Bundaberg where age group teams from Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast, South Burnett and Bundaberg will compete to gain further representation in Wide Bay Teams to play at the State Age Carnival in Brisbane early July .
