The wild wet weather in southeast Queensland last week has cut-short round four of the Ipswich Rugby League Mayor Paul Pisasale A-Grade Cup.

The inclement weather forced two of the three round four A-Grade games to be rescheduled for later in the season as some Ipswich sporting fields were closed down for the weekend.

The only A-Grade game to proceed as scheduled was the game between the Fassifern Bombers and Brothers at the Bombers’ home ground, Hayes Oval.

Fassifern was looking for its first win of the year, but Brothers, who gained a confidence boosting win over competition heavyweights West End last weekend, won the game 36-20.

The result leaves the Bombers winless at the bottom of the Ipswich Rugby League Mayor Paul Pisasale A-Grade Cup ladder after four rounds.

Brothers on the other hand look to be gaining momentum after two consecutive victories.

It wasn’t all bad for the Fassifern club however with the Bombers’ reserve grade team defeating Eastern Cobras 52-14 and their Colts team defeating the Cobras 28-24.

The two A-Grade games from round four that have been rescheduled are Goodna versus West End and Norths versus Swifts; these games will now be played on Friday the 12th of June at the North Ipswich Reserve.

This weekend’s round for the Ipswich Rugby League 2nd Division has been cancelled.
