On Sunday 18 young ladies from Toowoomba and District travelled to the border town of Goondiwindi to take on Warwick and District in their first trial match together.

The girls didn’t disappoint, coming away with a good win which will set them up with plenty of confidence heading to the Mustang trials this weekend in Warwick.

The girls have been attending training and have been put through their paces since March 3, learning skills and drills by NRL development officer Dean Bosnich along with Mitch Sargent, Tristan Hope and Will Carter.

There have been up to 50 girls training and after the Mustang trials we hope to continue with the games being played in conjunction with the newly formed U15/16 Boys Youth Cup on Friday evenings.

If any girls are interested in playing from ages 13 to U17 please keep an eye on the TJRL Facebook page for updates.
