Jandowae will be hosting the 53rd Under 12 carnival from July 4-10, with teams travelling from Gold Coast, Ipswich, Charleville, Pittsworth, Roma and the Western Downs.
The Jandowae/Western Downs team has had three trial games leading up to the week-long carnival. Their first trial game was against the Ipswich side in Ipswich and they won that trial 20-6.
The second trial game was against Pittsworth in Jandowae and once again the Jandowae/Western Downs side performed strongly with a comprehensive 62-4 win.
The third and final trial game was held in Roma against Roma and in a tight game, Jandowae/Western Downs won 30-10.
The coaching staff for this year’s Jandowae/Western Downs Squad comprises of Ian Wassell, Mark Llewellyn, Danny Wassell and Trent Radel. Many other officials, Zone 4 Badge Holders, Life Members, parents and guests will converge on Jandowae for the carnival.
The Committee is spending long hours preparing the grounds, games and activities with a Men Of League Fundraiser, Street March, Team Challenge Events, Broncos Development Day (Zone 4 Players only), Carnival Dinner and the Closing Ceremony.
In such a small community, the support of sponsors and personnel is greatly appreciated and should complement an excellent display of junior rugby league over the week.
