Statement from the Ackerman family
While we are mourning and grieving the loss of our beautiful son James, we have found some comfort in knowing he has helped save a number of lives through organ and tissue donation.
While James has gone, his spirit remains and we are very proud that he is helping other people and their families.
We are pleased two people have already received lifesaving organ transplants as a result of James’ generous donation and in the near future up to 18 other people will benefit from James’ precious gift of tissue donation.
We would like to add our support of organ and tissue donation and encourage Australians to consider becoming donors.
