The Brisbane Broncos, Melbourne Storm, NRL and QRL will join Queensland’s rugby league community in coming together on Friday 4 September to raise funds for the James Ackerman Family Trust.

This is the day after our Thursday night final home game against the Storm here in Brisbane.

James Ackerman, a footballer for the Sunshine Coast Falcons - one of Melbourne Storm's feeder teams in the Queensland Cup - was tragically killed playing the game he loves on the field last month.

So the rugby league community is holding a special lunch to support the James Ackerman Family Trust on Friday 4 September at the Norths Leagues & Services Club in Kallangur.

Tables are being sold and auction items are currently being generated for the fundraiser.

The event aims to raise important funds to support James' young family – his wife Saraa and young children Olliver (3 years old) and Milly (2 years old) into the future.
