A week is a long time in rugby league.

After copping a 60-4 hiding at the hands of Wynnum Manly Redland City a week ago, Logan Brothers rebounded with an equally stunning 74-6 victory over Normanby on Saturday.

The thirteen try performance snapped a four-game losing streak.

“I thought we were a win away from kicking back into gear and getting a bit of confidence,” coach Jason Gainey said.

“We knew if we kept working hard things would turn around... and it did.”

Logan Brothers kept pace with the clock in the first half, notching 40 unanswered points by the break.

Fullback Ono So’Oiaolo finished with two tries and a personal haul of 22 points.

The former Souths Logan Magpies representative was devastating on kick return and looms as a key man with a fortnight of footy until finals.

“In my mind Ono is the best fullback in the competition, there’s a lot of wraps for other blokes but personally I wouldn’t trade him for anyone,” Gainey said.

“He safe, got great feet and is quick, tough... he just ticks all the boxes, we’re very fortunate to have him.”

The match also marked the return of centre Tony Choung from injury.

Gainey expects to have five-eighth Ihaka Watene back from the Intrust Super Cup next week.

In other fixtures, Ipswich Jets beat top placed Wynnum Manly Redland City 42-20 to claim the Chairman’s Trophy.

Easts Tigers jumped to third spot on the ladder with a 36-0 shutout of Carina, while West Brisbane Panthers kept their top six hopes alive by beating Valleys 46-34.

Gaters registered a 29-22 upset against Redcliffe – both teams scored five tries but the accurate boot of Kieran Turner proved the difference.
