The Queensland Rugby League (QRL) Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting in Rockhampton this Friday.

The visit to Central Queensland follows the successful staging of ‘Get in the Game’ Country Week, which saw six Intrust Super Cup matches played across regional Queensland last weekend.

Over the past four years, Board meetings have been held in Roma, Mount Isa, Toowoomba and Mareeba.

“With rugby league’s healthy statewide representation, it’s important for our Board to get out to local communities,” QRL Managing Director Rob Moore (pictured) said today.

“Already this year we’ve held our annual XXXX Maroons Fan Day in Proserpine and of course the full round of Country Week fixtures.

“This is another opportunity for Directors to spend time at a regional venue and make themselves available to discuss local issues.”

Following the monthly Board meeting, a Stakeholder Function will be held in the Rockhampton Leagues Club.

The events kick-start a massive weekend for the game in Central Queensland.

Three senior Rockhampton Rugby League grand finals will be played at Browne Park on Saturday, along with the Intrust Super Cup game between the CQ Capras and Souths Logan Magpies.

Rockhampton product Belinda Sleeman was yesterday appointed to referee the Capras v Magpies clash. She will become the 59th Cup referee and the first female to officiate in the middle.
