This year, the Greater Brisbane Junior Rugby League Annual Presentation evening will see Channel Nine Queensland sponsor two awards as a part of the recently formed partnership.
The awards night is scheduled for Saturday, October 17 and will be held at Riverside Receptions in New Farm.
‘The Footy Show Club of the Year’ Award, (previously known as ‘Premier Division Club of the Year’) will see a prize of $5000 presented to the winning club. (The winner will be determined using the same criteria as used in past years.)
‘The Nine News Volunteer of the Year’ Award, (previously known as – ‘GBJRL Volunteer of the Year’) is open for all GBJRL affiliated clubs and their members.
The GBJRL encourage the clubs to support this initiative and get as many people nominated as possible.
This award will recognise those who give so much of themselves each and every footy season.
There is a senior volunteer award and there is also a prize up for grabs for the Brisbane Second Division members. The prize for the ‘Nine News Volunteer of the Year’ consists of a trip to attend a 2016 NRL match in Sydney. Further details are available at www.stingers.net.au.
The GBJRL encourage clubs to invite people to get involved; it is so important that wonderful and selfless people feel both encouraged and recognised.
All nominations are to be received no later than close of business Friday, September 25 to the RLB – Manager Shane McNally: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Contact the league office during business hours on 3367 6070 for further information.
NOTE: The GBJRL reserves the right to select the winners of these awards using the criteria provided and the leagues decision is final.
