Last year’s Cyril Connell Cup and Mal Meninga Cup champions the Townsville Stingers will compete to defend their titles next season under the banner of Intrust Super Cup club the Townsville Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks recently held Under 18 and Under 16 trials and earlier this week announced the members of their 2016 Cyril Connell Cup and Mal Meninga Cup training squads.

A release from Blackhawks said they were excited to incorporate the two junior representative teams under their banner next season and stated they would work collaboratively with the Townsville & Districts Junior Rugby League to support both of these squads.
