One of the new members of the Queensland Maroons support staff unveiled by Kevin Walters today is former national shot put and discus champion Chris Gaviglio.
Gaviglio is also a QAS senior strength and conditioning coach with experience working with athletes from the highest level, having previously been involved with the Wallabies and Gold Coast Suns.
This year, the full-time Queensland Academy of Sport coach will assume the title of Maroons Physical Performance Manager during the State of Origin campaign.
Gaviglio, who grew up in North Queensland, is excited to have been offered the opportunity to work with “some of the best athletes” in one team.
