Applications are now open for Coach and Assistant Coach of the AURL 2017 University Student World Cup Squad.

The 2017 Student World Cup will be held in Australia (venues yet to be finalised but likely to be based in the greater Sydney region) from July 5-17.

Although team nominations have not closed, already up to 12 countries have nominated for this prestigious event which forms part of the International Rugby League’s 2017 Festival of World Cups.

The AURL is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified persons for the positions of Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the 2017 AURL World Cup Squad.

Applicants would need to hold as a minimum a Senior Club Coach qualification, ideally have experience in coaching at Open Age Representative or Senior Competition Level and be able to attend:

  •  The Interstate Challenge match between Qld and NSW Universities to be held in Brisbane on October 8, 2016 (this match is the selection trial for the AURL World Cup Squad);
  • A five night training camp scheduled for late February 2017, likely to be in Brisbane; and
  • The World Cup tournament from July 1-17, 2017, inclusive (includes a pre-tournament training camp).

Applications close on April 15, 2016 with appointments made by April 22, 2016.
