XXXX Queensland Maroons forward - and team jester - Sam Thaiday wants the rain to stay away so the backs can be their brilliant best at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night for Origin Game II.

"I'd love to see a dry track ... it'll gve our guys like Darius (Boyd) and GI (Greg Inglis) a lot of free rein and also give Coops (Cooper Cronk) and JT (Johnathan Thurston) a lot more options out there on the field."

Thaiday also speaks about:

  • How Souths Logan threw some Blues moves at the Maroons in an opposed training session.

  • The benefits of Cowboy Kyle Feldt joining the camp when Dane Gagai was under an injury cloud.

  • Kangaroos on the training paddock - the ones wearing fur, not the Green and Gold.
