Justin O'Neill has welcomed the inclusion of Cowboys team-mate Gavin Cooper for Origin Game III in Sydney with the XXXX Maroons seeking their first series whitewash since 2010.

"It's good seeing one of the boys you play alongside each week get a call-up," O'Neill said.

"He is one of those players who we play week-in week-out, we know what we are going to get from him.

"He's a tough player and he does his job each week ... He does take a lot of tough runs as well."

CLEAN SWEEP

Series debutant O'Neill said the Maroons had fixed their gaze on keeping the Blues winless in 2016.

"The first two games have been unreal," he said.

"But we've got another game coming up and we want to do the job on NSW again so hopefully we can make it three in a row.

"We've put ourselves in a pretty good position, we've given ourselves the opportunity to get the clean sweep, so if we prepare well we're a good chance."
