The Board of the Sea Swift Northern Pride Rugby League Club has appointed Greg Dowling as the new CEO to lead the Northern Pride.

Dowling is well known in rugby league, having been a professional footballer who has played at all representative levels. His connection with rugby league ranges from grassroots to the international stage.

Dowling has had a long association with the Northern Pride, including being a commentator for Northern Pride games from 2007 to 2009.

His skills on the football field and in the development of young players will complement his skills in financial management, which will keep the Northern Pride as one of the top Intrust Super Cup clubs in Queensland.

Given his passion for rugby league and particularly his vision for the development of the Northern Pride and the recruitment of local talent, combined with his rugby league connections, wide and varied business experience and commercial acumen, Dowling will be an asset to the Northern Pride moving forward.

The Board is delighted to welcome Dowling to the Northern Pride and is looking forward to working with him to build on the strong foundation that the Northern Pride already has, to a bright sustainable future for the Northern Pride, its sponsors and members and the community in the Far North.

The Board would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Chey Bird who has been the interim CEO for the past few weeks and to Brothers World of Entertainment for allowing Bird to be seconded to the Northern Pride during this period.

Dowling will start with the Northern Pride on November 4.
