JAKE TURPIN - SUNSHINE COAST FALCONS - 4th March 2017 - Action from Round 1 of the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) Intrust Super Cup between SUNSHINE COAST FALCONS v EASTS TIGERS played at Sunshine Coast Stadium

The Falcons and Tigers opened the 2017 Intrust Super Cup with a typical early season encounter where the low 7-7 score line was an apt reflection of the game.

Both teams defended mightily, but failed to completed the attacking opportunities they created.

The home side scored the first points of the season when stand-in five-eighth Guy Hamilton (in for Ryley Jacks who made him Melbourne Storm NRL debut) passed to Eddie Tautali who made a clean break.

Tigers fullback Linc Port recovered the kick, but a fantastic chase by Tautali and Jake Turpin saw him pushed in goal.
