Wests Panthers Rugby League Club and supporters will be coming together to reunite and honour the 1992 / 1993 premiership teams with their biennial fundraising lunch on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Brisbane Convention Centre.
Along with celebration of the reunion of the 92/93 premier team and history of the club, the lunch will look ahead to the 2018 State of Origin and will celebrate the influence of the red and black on the Maroons.
The event will include special guests such as Darren Lockyer and Kevin Walters.
“It will be a fantastic opportunity to reunite these premiership winning players and celebrate their successes, with the hopes of also raising money for the club, restoration of our original scoreboard clock from Lang Park, and to consolidate our partnership with Wests Panthers Old Boys,” Wests club president Margaret Carl said.
Before settling in at their home grounds in Bardon, the original historical clock originates from the Wests playing days at Lang Park, having been installed in 1964.
Wests have had a long history since its foundation in 1915 when the Toowong and North Brisbane clubs merged.
The lunch will aid the ongoing support to Wests, celebrating the rich history of the club and its grassroots are key in the ongoing development of the game in the western suburbs.
This lunch follows the successful Centenary Dinner in 2015, where the Wests Rugby League ‘Team of the Century’ was named.
The Centenary Dinner was also host to recognise 100 of Wests players over the 100 years of Wests.
Tickets will be on sale for $175pp and will be available at ttp://www.westsbrisbanejrl.com.au/events
Anyone who supported Wests in the State of Origin era should not miss this event.
