Queensland Murri Under 16 team enters camp

The Queensland Under 16 Murri team have arrived in camp today and are preparing to take on their NSW Koori counterparts in this year’s interstate game.

The side were selected following last year’s Arthur Beetson Foundation Murri Carnival and have already had some time to get to know each other, having toured New Zealand last year.

The team will assemble in Brisbane today and will spend a few days in camp before heading to New South Wales on Thursday in preparation for Saturday’s game.

Their match will be played as a curtain-raiser to the Charity Shield game between the St George Illawarra Dragons and the South Sydney Rabbitohs behind held at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Stadium.

Keep an eye of QRL.com.au for more news about the team in the lead-up to the match.

Sawere Reuben and Leo Dynevor are sharing the coaching duties for the team; stepping to in take over from the much-respected Jim Stevens, who passed away suddenly late last year. A huge contributor to the game in his role as an NRL Game Development officer as a junior coach; he will be greatly missed.
