Additional opportunity in Under 16s pre-season competition

Players who were chosen as part of the Brisbane squad, but have not been selected to play in the South East Queensland Under 16s pre-season challenge have been offered a one-off representative game against Toowoomba this Saturday (March 24).

Due to the highly contested Brisbane Under 16s representative teams, several players who have been training weekly with the squads haven’t yet had the opportunity to display their skills on the field in front of selectors.

This additional one-off game recognises the nine weeks of fortitude shown in committed training and provides the opportunity for players to press their claims for selection in the South East Queensland team that will play in the Queensland State Carnival in July 2018, to be hosted in Mackay.

Brisbane against Toowoomba will kick-off proceedings at Emerson Park from 1pm. It will be followed by Ipswich v Gold Coast White, Brisbane Red v Gold Coast Yellow and Brisbane Blue v Brisbane Grey.
