Pride lead Foley Shield standings

At just over the half way mark in the competition, the Northern Pride has a good lead in the 2018 Foley Shield race.

The Pride have collected 9 points so far, and they are followed in the standing by the Townsville Blackhawks on 5 points while the Mackay Cutters are just behind them with 4 points.

All three clubs have the potential to earn eight (8) more points with each region having two more Intrust Super Cup games to play in the competition.

Cairns, Townsville and Mackay are also set to play each other across the May Long Weekend in Local A Grade representative football.

This will also double as the Marlins A Grade selection trials.

At the same stage of the competition last year, it was the Blackhawks who were out in front, but the Pride have jumped out of the blocks this year to hold their healthy lead.

With the Cutters having a good win on the weekend over the Ipswich Jets in the Intrust Super Cup and reports that they will have a very competitive Mackay and District Rugby League A Grade team representing the region this year; the competition is wide open.

An exciting end to the competition is guaranteed.
