SEQ's best compete at Alpha Sport Chairman's Challenge

The 2018 Alpha Sport Chairman's Challenge tri-series takes place this weekend at Souths JRLFC at Acacia Ridge.

The best A Grade and Under 19s players from Ipswich, Gold Coast and Brisbane do battle annually for regional supremacy and the chance to be selected in the SEQ team to compete at the State Carnival.

Tomorrow (Friday May 18), Gold Coast take on Brisbane at 6pm (Under 19s) and 7.15pm (A Grade).

Gold Coast will back up on Saturday against Ipswich at 2.30pm (Under 19s) and 4pm (A Grade) and finally the Diggers face Brisbane in Sunday's fixtures at 12.15pm (Under 19s) and 1.30pm (A Grade).

Since every team will play twice across the space of a single weekend, some rules are amended.

Under 19s will play 2 x 30-minute halves while A Grade will play 2 x 35-minute halves and each team will have a five-player bench with unlimited interchange.

Players who successfully gain selection in the SEQ team will compete at the QRL State A Grade Carnival to be held at Southport's Owen Park on the weekend of June 1-3.

They will compete against Northern, Central and SEQ Poinsettias teams with a Queensland Rangers team to be selected at the conclusion of the Carnival.
