Storm coach Craig Bellamy is hoping Cameron Smith's uncommon presence through the Origin period will help lift his team for Sunday's clash against the Broncos.
The Storm skipper has lent his voice and considerable experience at team meetings, a welcome sight for the coach given Smith is usually in Holden State of Origin camp in early June.
"That's a luxury we haven't had for 15 years," Bellamy said.
"I made the point during the week to the players, we want to make use of him back there too. And he has been really a big part of our meetings and our training. When he came back from Origin sometimes, he was a little bit tired.
"To his credit, he was in a really good state of mind on Monday and Wednesday. His move earlier in the week shows he dead-set made the right decision."
Bellamy was also full of praise for his Origin players.
"I thought Josh (Addo-Carr) was tremendous for NSW," he said.
"I thought our boys were really good for Queensland. (Cameron) Munster was good, Felise (Kaufusi) made a lot of tackles and made some good runs as well.
"Will (Chambers) was disappointed in his game and was quite down on Thursday. But he's been there before with rep footy, so I'm sure he'll come through the other side."
The Storm will have to manage without their first choice centre pairing against the Broncos, with Chambers and Curtis Scott serving suspensions.
Justin Olam, Cheyse Blair and Young Tonumaipea are all in contention and Bellamy will make that call on Saturday.
The team sheet has seldom stayed consistent this year, something that has frustrated Bellamy.
"I can't remember the last time we swapped and changed this many people, this early in the season to be quite honest," he said.
"It's been a little bit of injuries and a bit of our doing, our lack of discipline at times. We've had some guys suspended, which is not ideal and certainly not what we want.
"The Broncos probably didn't have the start to the season they wanted. But over the last four or five weeks, they've really played well and got back to competitive brand of footy.
Bellamy told reporters he was yet to make a decision about his future and has not set a deadline to respond to the Storm's offer.
