U16s given taste of the Big Show with Titans' opener

In what is sure to be a great encounter, the Currumbin Eagles and Nerang Roosters Under 16 Division 1 teams will play their Round 5 match as the preliminary to the Gold Coast Titans and South Sydney Rabbitohs at CBUS Super Stadium on Friday night at 6 o'clock.

Roosters

The Nerang coach, Rodney Walsh, said: "The boys are proud to represent Nerang Roosters and thank Rugby League Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Titans for the opportunity."

They have their afternoon all planned out with a captain's run followed by a pre-game meal and then all jumping on the 'team bus' and heading to the stadium. The team is back to full strength this week with the return of some players and they will be "getting back to basics" and playing to their strengths.

Eagles

The Currumbin coach, Daniel Morton, said: "I have a great group of boys who are very excited and looking forward to playing and tackling on the grass at Cbus.

"It's a great opportunity for them to showcase what they can do." With their team goal in the forefront of their minds, Currumbin will have a full squad to take on Nerang and are looking forward to an up-tempo, exciting game.

Cheer

Good luck to both teams and enjoy the experience of playing at Cbus Super Stadium. There will undoubtedly be some great football on display Friday night, so let's get a great crowd there to cheer these young players on.
