'Origin brings out anger': Oates

Popular Maroons re-inclusion Corey Oates has vowed to up the ante in his return to Queensland's State of Origin team.

In his first interview since being told of his selection for Game III of the 2018 series at Suncorp Stadium, Oates could barely contain his enthusiasm.

"I'll hopefully bring some aggression," Oates said.

"I've got a massive passion for Origin.

"It brings out a bit of anger in me.

"Sometimes I may go a bit too silly, but that's the way the game (State of Origin) is played."

Game 3: Corey Oates Interview

Oates, 23, played the last of his previous four games for Queensland in Game I of last year's winning series.

He said that this week's team review had confirmed to him how badly his teammates wanted to make amends for falling behind in the 2018 campaign.

"The boys got a bit emotional and annoyed because of how close they were in Game II," said Oates.
