NRL congratulates Professor Megan Davis

Australian Rugby League Commission Chairman, Peter Beattie led congratulations today for fellow Commissioner, Professor Megan Davis, who last night received two Australian Financial Review (AFR) Women of Influence awards.

Amongst a raft of achievements, Ms Davis is an Aboriginal activist and human rights lawyer and last night, was awarded the AFR’s overall Woman of Influence award, together with the Public Policy award.

“These are well deserved awards for someone that has achieved a phenomenal amount for so many people, both here in Australia and around the world,” Mr Beattie said.

“Megan is one of the hardest working people I know, and we are fortunate to have her as part of our Commission.

“Her support for rugby league is legendary, as is her resolve to achieve greater recognition for our First Nations peoples.

“On behalf of everyone in our game, Megan deserves a huge congratulations.”
