Atherton headlines local focus for Cutters

The QCCS Mackay Cutters this week announced the re-signing of local talent Blake Atherton for the upcoming 2019 season.

Atherton is amongst the 10 Mackay-based (or raised) signings and re-signings for next season.

The local contingent for the 2019 Intrust Super Cup squad has increased to 40%; increasing from 25% in 2018 and is the highest the club has seen in the past five years.

Atherton is a Mackay Wests junior and is fast becoming a Cutters stalwart with his experience in the team.

Another product of the club’s pathway program, Atherton is in his fourth season of Intrust Super Cup and will be looking to lock down an outside back spot in 2019.
