QRL confirms Intrust Super Cup broadcast schedule

Televised Intrust Super Cup matches return to the fan-friendly Sunday afternoon slot in 2019 as the QRL today confirmed the broadcast schedule for the opening seven rounds.

The Round 1 clash between last year’s semi-finalists – the Ipswich Jets and Townsville Blackhawks – opens Channel Nine’s Sunday afternoon coverage of Queensland’s premier statewide competition. (see below for broadcast schedule)

Defending premiers the Redcliffe Dolphins feature twice in the opening seven rounds, the first against fierce bayside rivals the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in week three.

The Sunday match-day broadcast will be spread across Nine and 9Gem throughout the regular season.

As part of the new and improved broadcast schedule, FOX Sports will also broadcast games in the opening two weeks of the finals, in addition to the coverage across Nine and 9Gem.

QRL Chief Operating Officer Rohan Sawyer said it was shaping up to be another breathtaking season.

“We’re continually looking at ways to grow our fan base and engage with supporters of this outstanding competition,” Sawyer said.

“We believe the new broadcast arrangements in 2019 will help us achieve those targets.

“The switch from Saturday to Sunday broadcasts throughout the season is sure to be a popular outcome for many fans as well as our grassroots participants who are always eager to watch and follow the competition.

“We’re extremely grateful to Channel Nine and the NRL for their collaboration and support of this wonderful competition.”
