SEQ announce Under 16s training squad

The South East Queensland Region has announced a 52-member Under 16 training squad selected from the pre-season challenge series.

The challenge series was introduced in 2017 and has proven to be a successful part of the selection process.

This will be the first step for all players wishing to gain selection in one of the two SEQ representative Under 16 teams that will contest the QRL State Junior Carnival, to be held in Kawana on the weekend of July 3-7.

Additional players may still be added to this squad based on performance at club level and also as they return from an injuries that may have forced them out of the pre-season series.

Region selectors and coaching staff will continue to visit Under 16s matches in all three local league competitions to monitor form and fitness of all participating players.

The group will assemble for the following training commitments

  • Wednesday, April 24 – Bill Norris Oval, Beenleigh at 6pm
  • Wednesday, May 22 – Bill Norris Oval, Beenleigh at 6pm
  • Saturday, June 15 – Runaway Bay Sports Centre, 8am
  • Wednesday, June 20 - Bill Norris Oval, Beenleigh at 6pm
  • Wednesday, June 27 - Bill Norris Oval, Beenleigh at 6pm
