The second and final day of Foley Shield and Northern Women's trial action kicked off on Sunday with a women's game between Mackay and Cairns.
From the onset, it was all one way traffic from a dominant Mackay side who made easy metres up the middle to go into half time with a strong 20-0 lead.
Mackay scored first in the second half and despite having their share of opportunities, Cairns weren't able to capitalise and remained scoreless for the entire game.
The Mackay women kept piling on the points and were 42-0 at the fulltime siren with Katie Green being awarded player of the match.
Lauren Moss and Emma Manzelmann were again impressive for Mackay who along with Lavina Moss finished with two tries each, while Katie Green and Addy Poid also chipped in with one try apiece.
It was much the same pattern in second women's game with Townsville far too strong with a punishing 46-0 defeat over Outback after going into the sheds at half time with a 24-0 lead.
Mackay snatched a thrilling victory 26-22 against Cairns in the men's game to claim the Foley Shield after a try was scored right on the fulltime siren and the conversion was slotted.
