The North Queensland Marlins Men’s representative team has been selected to play against QRL Central Region and two South East Queensland regional teams at Southport on June 1 and 2.
These teams were selected after the highly successful Foley Shield and Northern Region Women’s Championships held in Townsville on May 4-5.
QRL Northern manager Scott Nosworthy congratulated the three teams who participated - Cairns, Townsville and Mackay and particularly Townsville, who had to play two games on one day.
Mackay won both games defeating Townsville 20-16 and a then had a thriller against Cairns 26-22 with a try after the siren.
Cairns defeated Townsville on Saturday 34-18, but were gallant in defeat against Mackay on Sunday.
