Veteran Warriors centre Gerard Beale has been hospitalised with a dislocated kneecap that will end his season and likely sideline him for the start of 2020 after he was left in agony at the SCG.

Beale was taken from the field in a medicab after just eight minutes of Sunday's SCG fixture when his knee was visibly displaced in a collision with Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

The 29-year-old was given the green whistle on-field before being taken straight to hospital before the first half was finished, and faces reconstructive surgery on what is feared to be a ruptured patella tendon in his left knee.

David Fusitu'a is "a chance" to return from his hamstring strain against Cronulla according to Stephen Kearney and Patrick Herbert is close to an NRL comeback from a hamstring issue. Jazz Tevaga's ankle problem will also be monitored during the week.

Sharks star Matt Moylan's trouble with his hamstrings has continued after limping off in Sunday's win over St George Illawarra.

Meanwhile, Rabbitohs centre Braidon Burns suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday night's clash with the Bulldogs, having missed 11 weeks with a hamstring problem earlier this season.

The recurrence of the injury occurred after Burns sat out last week's match with a similar issue.

It's a cruel blow to the Souths young gun who has been one of the best performers for Wayne Bennett's side this year, with the remainder of his season now in doubt.

Star forward Sam Burgess also suffered an injury to his quad late in the loss to Canterbury but is hopeful of suiting up for Friday's trip to Brisbane.

Newcastle coach Nathan Brown said hooker Connor Watson suffered a low-grade medial ligament injury to his knee in their 42-6 victory over North Queensland on Saturday.

Watson limped from the field in the 54th minute and said he heard a pop, but after the game both Brown and Watson did not consider the injury was serious and hoped it would not rule him out of their game against Wests Tigers at Campbelltown next Saturday.

Cowboys coach Paul Green said winger Jordan Kahu was in doubt for their game against Penrith next Friday after suffering another eye socket injury in the first half of their 42-6 loss to the Knights in Newcastle on Saturday.

Canberra forward Joe Tapine suffered a rib injury in Saturday's match against the Storm.

A week after the Wests Tigers lost star hooker Robbie Farah to a leg fracture his replacement Jacob Liddle has suffered a season-ending ACL injury against Manly.
