SEQ Girls ready for big day of qualifying finals

Qualifying finals will be held across the South East Queensland Region this Saturday in the flourishing Under 14 and 16 Girls divisions.

Participation levels in girls rugby league has been on the rise for a number of years with several new teams making their first appearance in the finals this year.

Souths, Arana, Ormeau and Beaudesert are all new to the scene and will field teams across the various divisions.

The Ormeau club, who last weekend hosted the Division 2 and 3 senior women's grand finals, has a combined team with Coomera and are one of the many great stories of female rugby league in the region.

Players from the senior team have contributed to building the culture and nurturing the next generation by assisting with coaching duties throughout the season.

There will be 10 games played across the region throughout Saturday, with Goodna Eagles, Parkwood Sharks and Capalaba Warriors also hosting fixtures.

All the times for this weekend's matches are listed in the graphic below:

The Under 14 division has a three-tiered competition, while the Under 16s feature two tiers.

Winners will advance to the grand finals to be held next weekend.

Venue, dates and times are yet to be advised, but will be published on the QRL website.
