SEQ announce inaugural Under 18 Girls development squad

South East Queensland has announced its inaugural Under 18 Girls development squad to face PNG Schoolgirls Under 18s later this month.

There were 28 players named to participate in the development squad after the successful completion of the region’s Under 18 Girls competition which culminated in a win for Brothers St Brendan's over Redlands at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

The development squad will participate in a four-day education and training camp at Runaway Bay before a final team of 20 players will meet a PNG Schoolgirls Under 18 team on Saturday, September 28.

Redlands Parrots coach Andrew Brown and former Queensland Residents, Intrust Super Cup and SEQ Representative player and Goodna Eagles coach Ramon Filipine have been named as co-coaches of the squad.

Nine players from the premiership winning Brothers St Brendan's side have been named in the squad, along with six players from runners up Redlands.
